Reasons and solutions for the decrease in the purity of nitrogen generators

PSA nitrogen generator is based on the principle of pressure swing adsorption, using high-quality carbon molecular sieve as the adsorbent, and producing nitrogen from the air under a certain pressure. The purified and dried compressed air is subjected to pressure adsorption and decompression desorption in the adsorber. Due to the aerodynamic effect, the diffusion rate of oxygen in the pores of carbon molecular sieve is much higher than that of nitrogen, oxygen is preferentially adsorbed by carbon molecular sieve, and nitrogen is enriched in the gas phase to form finished nitrogen. Then, after decompressing to normal pressure, the adsorbent desorbs the adsorbed oxygen and other impurities to achieve regeneration. Today, let's talk about the reasons and solutions that cause the purity of nitrogen generators to decline.

First, The reasons for the decrease in purity are:

1. The adsorption pressure of the nitrogen generator is unstable such as too high, exceeding 0.8Mpa or too low, lower than 0.6Mpa;
2. The gas source contains too much water and oil;
3. Air leakage at the air outlet interface;
4. Too much air intake will cause the pressure to rise too fast;
5. The molecular sieve of the nitrogen generator is poisoned.

Second, there are the following solutions to improve the nitrogen purity of the nitrogen generator:

1. Reduce the air pressure and increase the intake pressure;
2. Add a storage tank to the air inlet;
3. Remove and re-plug;
4. Replace molecular sieve;
5. Adjust the inlet regulating valve of the nitrogen generator to reduce the intake air, and install an oil-water separator before the inlet.
