First, Scope of application

Nitrogen generators for the pharmaceutical industry are mainly used in the fields of pharmaceutical production, storage, packaging, and packaging.

Usually easily oxidized water needles (penicillin, etc.) and large infusions (such as amino acids, etc.) need to be protected by nitrogen flushing, otherwise the liquid medicine will be easily oxidized during the storage period, that is, it will deteriorate. Generally, before packaging, the method of flushing nitrogen before and after (or single flushing nitrogen) is used to reduce the oxygen concentration in the ampoule or infusion bottle to below 0.5%, and the medicinal solution can be kept for a long time. At present, the equipment purchased by general manufacturers is about 5-20 m3/h, and the purity is 99.99%. The difference between the medicinal nitrogen generator and other nitrogen equipment is that due to the international standard GMP standard in the pharmaceutical industry, the parts in contact with drugs or liquids are made of stainless steel and the requirements for sterilization. The equipment needs to be made of stainless steel, and the nitrogen outlet of the equipment is required. Install a sterilizing filter device. Also because pharmaceutical factories have high overall requirements for equipment, they usually have high-end configurations.

Others include API manufacturing plants, which also require nitrogen protection. The nitrogen use process is more like the nitrogen use method of fine chemical plants. Usually the purity is 99-99.9%, but the dosage is different depending on the scale of the factory, but the dosage is much larger than that of the medicinal nitrogen generator.

Two, How it works

The nitrogen generator uses air as raw material, uses high-quality carbon molecular sieve as adsorbent, uses the principle of pressure swing adsorption (PSA), and uses molecular sieve full of micropores to selectively adsorb air to achieve the purpose of oxygen and nitrogen separation. Oxygen is preferentially adsorbed on molecular sieves under pressure, and nitrogen is obtained from the non-adsorbed phase. A nitrogen-enriched component can thus be obtained in the gas phase. Therefore, using the characteristic of carbon molecular sieve that the adsorption amount of oxygen and nitrogen is different in a certain period of time, the automatic control software performs pressure adsorption according to a specific time program, and the cycle process of atmospheric analysis completes the separation of oxygen and nitrogen, thereby obtaining high purity. of finished nitrogen.

Third, Performance characteristics

1. Process characteristics:

(1) The pressure swing adsorption nitrogen production equipment has the characteristics of wide applicable gas source, high product purity, simple process, high degree of operation automation, low operating cost, etc.

(2) The compressed air purification components have a long service life and are easy to replace and maintain.

(3) The outlet flow rate of the nitrogen making equipment is large, and the outlet pressure can be adjusted within the set range.

(4) It can be started and stopped at any time according to the production situation.

(5) The nitrogen purity of the product is high, and the nitrogen purity >99.99% can be achieved by means of pressure swing adsorption, and there is no need to configure nitrogen purification equipment.

2. Technical design features:
