Oxygen pipeline is an important facility for transporting oxygen. Since oxygen is a combustion-supporting gas, the following points should be paid attention to when laying:
① The selection of the oxygen pipeline should be suitable for the flow rate and pressure of the oxygen to be transported.
② The oxygen pipeline can be laid in three ways: overhead laying, trench laying and buried laying. The connection of the oxygen pipeline should be welded, and the connection between the pipeline and equipment, valves, accessories, etc. can be flanged or threaded. When threaded connection, lead monoxide, water glass or tetrafluoroethylene film should be used as filler. It is strictly forbidden to use hemp or cotton silk coated with lead red, or other grease-containing materials to avoid igniting combustibles when oxygen leaks.
③ The oxygen pipeline must be erected on the support of the non-combustion body.
④ The oxygen pipeline should not pass through the high temperature and flame area. If it must pass, heat insulation measures should be added to the pipe section. The temperature of the pipe wall should not exceed 700°C.
⑤ The oxygen pipeline should be equipped with a grounding device to remove static electricity.
⑥ The oxygen pipeline should try to avoid turning, the elbow should have a larger bending radius, and the interior should be smooth. Elbow and bifurcated head of oxygen pipeline should not be directly connected with the valve outlet. The carbon steel pipe and stainless steel pipe on the outlet side of the valve should have a straight pipe section with a length of not less than 5 times the outer diameter of the pipe and not less than 1.5m.
⑦ The oxygen pipeline valve and its accessories must be cleaned of rust and degreasing before installation.
⑧ Oxygen main line should be equipped with flame retardant copper pipe.
⑨ When the oxygen branch pipe for cutting and welding is connected with the hose for cutting and welding tools or equipment, the oxygen supply valve and cut-off valve shall be installed in a protective box made of non-combustible materials.
